Where do you draw the line after society falls apart?
The world as we knew it has collapsed and it's been 730 days since he was gone. While some have banded together in hopes of rebuilding a small piece of civilization, far too many others have banded together and decided that just taking is the easier way to survive. These ambush camps are scattered around the Broken Road that you must travel. They must be taken care of for everyone's safety and peace of mind.
Each Oregon backcountry region in Days Gone has a number of these camps. It's up to you to find them and make what's left of the world a little safer.
1. Cascade Radio Tower Camp
The 'Tutorial' ambush camp you clear as part of your introduction to the world of Days Gone.
Location camp:
- Cascade regio.
- It is set up immediately north of O'Leary Mountain, at the edge of the map.
Match details:
- This camp is part of the main story mission 'No Starving Patriots'.
- There will be 10 ambushes to take out.
- The bunker is located in the building with the Northwest Netcomm sign on it.
- The story of 'Ambush Camp Hunter' will be unlocked and the first reward, the crafting recipe for 'Spiked' melee weapons, will be given.
2. Jefferson Railroad Tunnel Camp
Open space and little experience can make this camp difficult for beginners.
Location camp:
- Cascade regio.
- It is north of Horse Lake and west of Pioneer Cemetery.
Match details:
- A total of 14 ambushes must be dealt with.
- Please keep an eye on the horde gathered south of the camp.
- The bunker is located next to a wooden cabin at the top of the hill.
3. Horse Creek-kamp
This camp is an uphill battle all the way.
Location camp:
- Cascade regio.
- It is located east of the High Desert Logging Camp area, northeast of Copeland's Camp.
Match details:
- A party of 14 ambushers will be stationed here.
- The bunker is nicely located under the antenna tower in the southern part of the camp.
4. Black Crater Camp
Rippers. It was just supposed to be Rippers.
Location camp:
- regio Belknap.
- This group is located as far southwest of Hot Springs Camp as possible.
Match details:
- There will be 14 Rippers defending this area instead of regular ambushes.
- The bunker is at the far back of the camp. Enter the pass under the 'We Are Many, We are One' sign and behind a wooden gate.
5. Belknap Caves match
Beware of a third party who wants to join this camp.
Location camp:
- regio Belknap.
- You're looking for the area just east of Hot Springs Camp, well south of Marion Forks and northeast of Crazy Willie's.
Match details:
- A group of 14 ambushers will be camped here.
- Be warned, a horde makes its home right below the camp, so gunshots and shouts will alert a bunch of freakers to your presence. They will engulf both you and the ambushers.
- The camp is divided and connected by several short bridges.
- The bunker is located on the northwest side of the camp between two huge boulders.
6. Bear Creek Hot Springs-kamp
There is no time to rest or relax in this rocky outlaw camp.
Location camp:
- regio Belknap.
- It is north of Hot Springs Camp and west of Marion Forks.
Match details:
- A slightly larger group of 15 ambushers will conspire here.
- The bunker is located on the west side of the camp under the pine tree surrounding the area where there is a large fire.
7. Deerborn-kamp
Don't expect to find Bambi in this mountainside ambush camp.
Location camp:
- Lost Lake District.
- Signs of this camp can be found far east of Iron Mike's Camp and south of Sherman's Camp.
Match details:
- Another large group of 15 ambushers was lying in wait at this location.
- The bunker is located on the north side of the camp among a collection of tents and tables.
8. Berley Lake-kamp
All in all, an easy goal, but still worth it.
Location camp:
- Lost Lake District.
- You can head southwest from Iron Mike's Camp.
Match details:
- Only 13 ambushes guard this camp.
- The bunker is within walking distance of the dilapidated hunting lodge between two rocky outcrops and under a pine tree.
9. Vognvej battle
Do the world a favor and clean up these Rippers.
Location camp:
- Iron Butte regions.
- A short trip north of the plane wreck you travel to in the 'Playing All Night' mission and southeast of the Iron Butte Pass Nero Checkpoint brings you right to the front door of this camp.
Match details:
- A gathering of 20 Rippers have gathered in this camp.
- The bunker is located in a cave tunnel - don't worry, there are no Freakers here - on the east side of the camp near one of the entrances/exits.
10. Redwood RV Park-kamp
More Rippers means more blood, no matter what.
Location camp:
- Iron Butte regions.
- You need to go due east of the Cloverdale Facility and south of the Main Ripper Compound to get to this camp.
Match details:
- Another happy group of 20 Rippers will be stationed at this camp, regardless of whether you've completed certain Main Story missions or not.
- The bunker is located in the northern part of the camp behind a motorhome and a group of blue toilets.
11. Gran Sø match
Be aware of your surroundings, especially in places like ambush camps.
Location camp:
- The crater lake area.
- It is southwest of Wizard Island and due south of Diamond Lake Camp.
Match details:
- A fairly manageable group of 15 ambushers will have to fight in this camp to survive.
- Be warned, this camp is not only a Nero Checkpoint, but also an unofficial horde that appears when you begin your attack.
- The bunker is located on the east side of the camp near the barred entrance of a tent.
12. Cascade Lake Railroad Camp
Hopefully you've never been bothered by the cold after all, because sometimes duty calls in truly miserable places.
Location camp:
- The crater lake area.
- Drive far east of Diamond Lake Camp and just north of the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway Nero Checkpoint along the main road to get to this camp.
Match details:
- An average group of 15 is ambushed in this desolate and cold camp.
- The bunker is in the southern part of the camp behind the derailed train and a pile of forgotten black boxes.
13. Aspen Butte-kamp
Send them a message they can't ignore... Walk away.
Location camp:
- Regio Highway 97.
- You're going just north of Chemult Community College.
Match details:
- The average number of 15 expected ambushes will be found in this camp.
- A side entrance to this camp is also a Nero research site hidden in a cave.
- The bunker is in a concrete space in a building on the south side of the camp.
14. Bare Bay fight
Don't sink under the pressure to pave the way for a safer life.
Location camp:
- Regio Highway 97.
- The camp is located southeast of Chemult Community College and southwest of the Nero Research Site. You have to jump twice while on your bike to get there.
Match details:
- An ambush of 19 men earn a living in this camp.
- The bunker is easy to find if you sit under the open sky in the central area of the camp.
Clearing camps will reward you with trust and credits at legitimate camps, as well as crafting recipes as you progress. After the first camp is cleared, the remaining recipes are unlocked as follows:
14% - Stamina cocktail
21% - Rookbom
29% - Recipe axe
36% - focus cocktail
43% - Superior club
50% - Proximity Bomb
57% - Burning bolt
71% - Attractorbom
86% - Explosive Bolt
The order in which you clear the ambush camps does not matter when unlocking these crafting recipes, only the percentage of the 'Ambush Camp Hunter' mission you have completed.
