Keeping up with Cyberpunk 2077's many gangs can become overwhelming. Here's how you can tell them all apart - and how they came to be in Night City.
ICyberpunk 2077In the Night City, crime is rife and ruthless gangs roam the streets. Overwhelmed by the scope of their responsibilities, the Night City Police Department often turns a blind eye to criminal activity and empowers citizens to take the law into their own hands. V is no exception to the rule and the player has to take down many gang members during the course of the game. But being able to identify which gang they're dealing with - and knowing its strengths and weaknesses - can be a critical factor in success.
There are eight different gangs that roam Night City. They each control their own territory, have their own appearance and maintain common values or goals. They also vary in severity or threat level. For players onlyaccess Cyberpunk 2077- or even for more experienced players starting new saves - it's important to know which gangs V can safely attack, or which gangs (and therefore areas) they should try to avoid.

Animals have all the muscles in Cyberpunk 2077

The animals are primarily known for their ultimate psychic power. Refusing to use most modern cyberware, opting instead for drugs such as steroids, they take pride in their bodies and are therefore easily identified by their large, brown figures (often dressed in animal print clothing). Unlike most gangs, they do not have a specific territory or area that they control. They can be found all over Night City, often as bouncers outside clubs and private lounges. Since Animals members regularly participate in martial arts andfist fights in Cyberpunk 2077- even among themselves - they can be a very big threat to players, especially if they use a melee build or shotguns. New players should try to evade them or, if necessary, use ranged combat to take them out from a safe position.
Maelstrom is equipped with the best cyberware from Cyberpunk 2077

Maelstrom is by far the scariest of the bunch, and for good reason. They bond over their love of cutting-edge cyberware, and because most choose to fully expose their implants, they look far from human. A telltale sign is their (often multiple) glowing red optical implants, which almost make them look like spiders. Due to their many cyberware upgrades, most Maelstrom members experience symptoms of cyberpsychosis, which causes them to become violent and unpredictable. In fact, they are the only gang whose threat level is categorized as Extreme, making any encounter with them seriously dangerous, even for higher level characters. FeaturesBest Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077, there's no way to tell what Maelstrom members are capable of, so they should be avoided if possible.
Scavengers høster cyberware i Cyberpunk 2077

Scavengers are frowned upon by virtually every resident of Night City for their cruel and inhumane practices. Members of this gang are notorious for attacking people on the street and harvesting their corpses for cyberware and body parts, which they then sell on the black market. They usually wear tracksuits or other athletic clothes and you can hear them speaking Russian or listening to Russian music. Like the animals, they do not occupy any territory, but can be found all over the city. However, since they are one of the weaker gangs in the game, lower level players can approach them directly.
Mox protect their own in Cyberpunk 2077

The Mox differ from any other Night City gang in that they focus on self-defense. Members consist mainly of sex workers along withCyberpunk 2077's romantic interest Judy, who want to protect each other from the industry's ruthless management and customers. They are completely passive unless one of their members - or any puppet in general - is tampered with in any way. Mox can be found in and around the Watson and Westbrook blocks, and are easily identified by their brightly colored, punk-inspired outfits. Unless provoked directly, they will not attack V, making them almost no threat to the player.

Tyger Claws is a powerful Cyberpunk 2077 gang

In contrast, Tyger Claws, although also based in Watson and Westbrook, is one of the city's largest and most prominent gangs. They were originally a small organization that only wanted to protect Asian citizens in the Japantown area, but they have since become a much more threatening and sinister group. They are known to operate prostitution and human trafficking as well as many othersThe brain dance in Cyberpunk 2077, also known as BD, clubs (where they abuse their employees, almost single-handedly the reason for The Mox's existence). Tyger Claws usually wear neon colors, have many tattoos and own high-profile motorcycles. While their fighting style varies, many use melee weapons such as katanas and therefore tend to be more difficult up close – but should always be approached with caution, even at range, due to their immense power.
Jackie Welles var med i Cyberpunk 2077's Valentinos

The Valentinos are also a force to be reckoned with in Night City. They started as a posing gang and only came together for cosmetic purposes and to seduce women. However, they quickly became one of the largest but closest groups on the street. The former gang is and now a part ofThe legacy of Jackie Welles in Cyberpunk 2077, Valentinos are very protective of their community and deeply rooted in Latino culture and traditions. Found exclusively in Heywood, they are often seen with religious tattoos and jewelry. Players of all skill levels should be wary of crossing them into their territory as they are quite powerful and are considered a major threat.
The Voodoo Boys are Cyberpunk 2077's best net-running gang

The Voodoo Boys are the most cryptic of all the gangs in town. Although they are not the strongest enemies in physical combat, they have gained a notorious reputation for their Netrunning abilities. They can effortlessly wipe out people's neural systems over great distances and wipe them out as quickly and effectively as if they were villainsAI i Cyberpunk 2077. The gang, formerly made up of Voodoo priests and priestesses, is now made up mostly of Pacifica's Haitian residents. Most members wear neutral-colored clothing and Netrunning suits, as well as religious charms, such as necklaces made of animal bones. An encounter with one of the Voodoo Boys would be a death sentence in cyberspace, but in flesh and blood encounters they are much weaker than some of Night City's other gangs. Most players will be able to eliminate them without breaking a sweat.
Members of the 6th Street Gang are Night City's resident patriots

6th Street are the last remaining patriots in the dystopian Night City. The majority of the members are ex-soldiers who still retain their military-grade cyberware implants, although they now use them only for combatturfoorlogen i Cyberpunk 2077. Although they were founded on values of order and discipline, they are now as criminal as any other gang, engaging in illegal activities such as arms trafficking and robbery. They can be seen in tactical gear, red, white and blue clothing, or both - and they mostly live in the Santo Domingo and Heywood districts. While only mildly threatening, it's important to consider that most members of 6th Street use guns rather than melee weapons. Players can take advantage of a more explosive approach up close or a slower style of play from behind cover when fighting these enemies inCyberpunk 2077.
